With the new assets I went back into Unreal and further developed my blockout. With my re-textured statues that now have a new emissive element, i added some different walls and steps to start blocking out some of the interior structure based on my floor plan from E1.

I intended to add some Test Tube / Cryo Chamber looseley based on the ones in the Warhammer 40k Space Marine II as well as the Pacman short from Secret Level.

Here was my initial attempt I wasn’t super pleased with the quality of it so I decided to remake it. I went back and took heavy inspiration from the references I had acquired and produced the following

Here is the final outcome I plan to add some wiring and pipes to sections later on to interconnect it with other elements throughout the scene.
I iterated on a few ways the Bacta-Tank could be placed within the environment I feel the angled placement is more unique and adds levels of claustrophobia.

I continued to make variations on the architecture to look to create a unique structure balancing both sci-fi and gothic architectural ideas. Combining sleek, smooth, curvature with sharp, sturdy.

I added these pillar pieces that encase the statues as if they have been carved from it. I liked the shape and mirrored it to see how it would look and felt it was successful. I wanted to continue this shape language within the walls and thought I could add opportunity for light rays in contrast to what would traditionally be windows.

Reflection: It was around this point in the project where I started to struggle to further develop the blockout elements as I was drifting too far from the traditional gothic elements and felt I needed to real it back in and reincorporate those elements again.
