Project Time Line:

My planning phase began in November where I looked back at some essay plans I had produced for my year 1 & 2 essays to see if there were any ideas worth developing. I also considered and discussed taking one of my previous essays further with this Dissertation but Nigel encouraged me to find a new subject that I could delve into as I may have already covered a lot in a previous essay.

Here are some of these ideas that were intriguing but none of them resonated with me much other than the Atomic Heart one which I had already done. I wanted a topic that was unique and provocative so I went back to the drawing board.

These were my next set of potential dissertation prompts I asked some friends and my lecturer Jane Hankin from last year as well as Nigel which came across strongest and this was her response.

This gave me a lot more confidence in the idea and with Nigel’s agreeance I started doing some foundational research into the topic. I made a list of games to consider diving into and did some potential introductions and titles.

I wrote as much as I could on various elements related to the topic my thought process was to cover as many bases early on and then slowly tie things that work successfully with one another.

Here is the feedback notes I received over my one to one sessions as well as my Dissertation draft feedback, I did my best to consider and execute these in my final piece.
